Royal Caribbean’s complimentary year-round Adventure Ocean Programme is available for children aged 3 (who must be fully toilet trained) to 17 years. It is sub-divided into different age groups called Aquanauts, Explorers, Voyagers, Navigators and Teens.

All children’s activities are supervised by male or female youth staff who have a 4 year University degree or international equivalent in Education, Recreation or a related field. All staff also have at least 3–5 years qualified experience in working with children ages 6 months-17 years.

Adventure Ocean is located across two floors on decks 11 and 12, toward the front of the ship.

Aquanauts can be found on deck 11 and caters for children aged 3-5 years who are potty trained. Activities include story time, face painting, theatre, finger painting, Camp Aquanaut, building blocks, music activities, space night and animal, colour and shape bingo.

Parents can opt for pagers to stay in touch with staff.

Children aged 6-8 years can join Explorers, located on deck 12, where activities range from conducting science experiments to learning how to make kites and sweets, pirate night, backstage tours, Nutty Nicknames, pyjama night, carnival games, model magic creations and talent shows.
Voyagers (Kids Club)
Voyagers (Kids Club)
Voyagers, which is located on deck 12, provides entertainment for 9 to 11 year olds with a range of educational activities including science experiments, backstage tours and new sports like Gagaball. Other events taking place include karaoke, sports tournaments, List-o-Rama, Boys vs. Girls, Scavenger Hunts and Crazy Tag.

The colourful H20 Zone features a number of splash areas and water features designed for kids and families to enjoy.

It is located on deck 14 and comes complete with Madagascar characters like the Penguins and Gloria the hippo.

For children aged 12-14 years (Navigators) and 15-17 years, activities include games and sports, parties and competitions. With their own spaces located on decks 14 and 15, activities also take place in different locations throughout the ship.

Activities on offer range from family discos, pool parties and scavenger hunts to karaoke, Video Games, Nintendo© Wii ( for 12-14yrs), pool parties, DJ training, Battle of the Sexes, Casino Night, themed dance parties, Nintendo© Wii-Guitar Hero and movies (for 15-17 years).

The Teen Area lies aft of decks 14 and 15, providing a range of activities and experiences for teenagers to enjoy.

The Living Room is a great space, with chairs and beanbags scattered around the room, surrounded by foosball, Xboxes and a widescreen TV for movies. Teens are allowed to come and go as they please in the Living Room, there no need to sign in or out.

Directly above is Fuel, the teen-only disco. There are dance parties most nights, often with a theme -- Miami night or '90s, for example -- as well as pool parties in the Solarium at the front of the ship.

Quantum of the Seas will offer the DreamWorks Experience with DreamWorks-themed activities running throughout a cruise featuring characters from films including Shrek®, Madagascar®, Kung Fu Panda® and more.

Experiences range from photo opportunities with the characters and colourful parades down the Royal Promenade to 3D movies in the theatre and special character breakfasts in the main dining room.

The Video Arcade, locate on deck 15, offers a variety of games to play such as air hockey and grab machines.

Charges apply and guests require their SeaPass cards to add credit at the charging stations to play the games.

Royal Babies and Tots Nursery forward of deck 12 has trained professionals to look after children aged 6 months to 36 months, at an hourly rate of $8 per child. The nursery stocks a basic supply of essential childcare items, but parents need to bring nappies/diapers, bottles and milk, food, sippy cups and an extra set of clothes.

Parents can also use the Royal Tots nursery with their under 3’s during certain times to play with a selection of toys.
Barbie™Premium Experience

Introduced fleet wide from March 2013, the Barbie™ Premium Experience is available for girls aged between 4 and 11 years and includes a pink Barbie themed stateroom and signature gifts including a Barbie Doll to take home; Tiaras & Teacups party; Mermaid dance class; Fashion Designer workshop and a Barbie Fashion Show. The premium experience costs $349.00 and is only available on cruises over 5 nights long.

Babysitting Services (for children aged over 12 months) are available in either a group setting or individually in stateroom on. It must be booked at least 24 hours in advance at the Guest Relations Desk.

A Royal Caribbean staff-member equipped with Fisher-Price toys and Mattel games will engage and entertain the youngsters until parents return at which point they are presented with a log of the child’s activities with the babysitter, including books read, games enjoyed, food consumed and when the child was put to bed.

Available for a minimum of two hours, the charge is $19 per hour for up to three children within the same family.

Group sitting is available from 10.00pm to 2.00am in the Adventure Ocean Centre. The cost for this service is $6/hour per child. Children attending must be at least 3 years old and fully toilet trained – no nappies or pull-ups are allowed.
