Overview Of The Port Of Pylos

About Pylos
Pylos (historically also known under its Italian name Navarino), is a town in Messenia, Peloponnese, Greece in southern Europe.

Local attractions include the Bay of Voidokilia, the "Beehive" Tombs, the "New" Venetian Castle of Pylos (in the western part of town) and the "Old" Venetian Castle (called "Paleocastro").

The Lagune and Swamp of Gialova features unique fauna and flora whilst the Cave of Nestor can be found south of bay of Voidokilia.

The Palace of Nestor is 5km north of Pylos, on the way to Kiparissia.

Take a boat tour around the area of Sphacteria, available from Pylos harbour.

Popular nearby beaches include Romanos and the quiet, basic Mati-Bouka Beach, good for snorkelling and wildlife spotting.

Olive, olive oil, honey and local wine and silk scarves all make good gifts.

Traditional Greek dishes such as moussaka, Greek salad as well as fresh fish and seafood can all be found in local restaurants.
Cruise Terminal
Cruise ships generally anchor and tender passengers ashore to the dock, which is in the centre of town.
