Fanning Island

Tabuaeran, also known as Fanning Island or Fanning Atoll is one of the Line Islands of the central Pacific Ocean, and part of Kiribati.

The island paradise of Fanning is extremely remote with no power grid or indoor plumbing.

Visitors can soak up the sun on the pristine sands of Napali, Norwegian Cruise Line's private watersports beach located inside the lagoon. Activities include jet skis, paddle boats and kayaking.

Scuba diving and snorkelling is possible along the outer reef.

Local islanders offer tours of their homeland and bikes are available for hire, to explore further.

The open air straw market sells gifts which include shell jewellery, ornaments and dream catchers.

Enjoy a barbecue feast whilst watching local dance groups perform shows.

Cruise ships anchor and tender passengers to a wooden pier at English Harbour.

Near the pier you'll find a beach compound with facilities such as chairs, entertainment, an open air market and volleyball courts.
