Devonport

Devonport is a city in the north western part of Tasmania, Australia.

Places of interest include the Bass Strait Maritime Centre, Devonport Regional Gallery, Don Railway, Home Hill and Tiagarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre.

There are also lots of walking trails, the City Walk, Kelcey Tier Nature Walk and the Tasmanian Arboretum to name a few.

In the central business district, you will find shopping malls, gift and specialist shops and boutiques.

Devonport has several beaches, Bluff Beach is patrolled during the summer and offers BBQ’s, picnic tables, toilets, a lawned area and children’s playground. From here it’s a short walk to Bluff Headland and lighthouse.

Restaurants serve a good mix of local dishes, seafood and international options such as Italian, Asian, Indian and Mexican.

Devonport Cruise Terminal is located 4km from the city centre. The Visitor Centre is located directly across from the Spirit of Tasmania Terminal, next to McDonalds. Here you arrange car hire/transport and trips and obtain tourist information and advice.
